Look, if I've been seeing you for anything regularly I need you to come by later. I'm not going through this shtak again and am packing up to head out the very next chance I have. But I'm not leaving any loose ends.

Get your asses down here like they're on fire. We need to treat your aging right now. It'll take you being in cryo for a day. Sorry if it puts a crimp in your plans but basically thanks to these wankspatters you have no time left. It has to be done now.

Move it.

Goddamn it. You know what, I don't care if it's a month in cryo, it beats whatever's supposed to happen.

I'm moving it. Be there soon as I can.

Will you read me a story to go with it?

[ It had, naturally, been Snake's first thought when he'd realized the amount of time that had passed seemingly without anyone's notice. He knows the way his genes are programmed and he knows the accelerated aging that awaits him if he doesn't do anything about it, having experienced that firsthand now.

Once they're back on the Moira, he can't help but take a look in the mirror, searching for any signs of it starting. It's hard to say if he simply looks a year older or if there's more to it than that, but he's quick to respond when Meh's call comes, having anticipated this. ]

Just a day? I think I can put up with that. I'm on my way.

Appreciate it, Doc.

[ Snake would like to believe there won't be anyone else showing up on this ship with the same specific problem, but clones are apparently far more common than they should be, so fine. He'll be in charge of that if he has to be.

Although... wait. There's something about the way that Meh is talking... ]

You going somewhere?
soldiergenes: (cause i know what i've seen)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2016-09-26 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Snake listens to the explanation in silence, and it's not really something that he can argue with either. It may not be the ship's fault this time, but it has been its fault in the past and everyone's bound to hit a breaking point. Even then, Snake would rather not try and fend for himself in the far reaches of space, but if Meh doesn't have a problem with that then more power to her.

He's pretty sure she's got experience with space travel, unlike him, so it makes sense. ]

Well...

[ Okay, this is awkward. Snake takes a few seconds to fight for his words. ]

You did a lot of good for me while you were here. I won't forget that. Or... I'll try not to, anyway. Who knows with this ship.
soldiergenes: (and another has not)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2016-09-27 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Snake would like to hope he could take this back with him, but he's not convinced it will be that easy for him. Still, if Meh's managed to buy him some extra time he's sure as hell going to make the most of it. ]

Believe me, that's the plan.

Anything else you want me to take care of in your absence?

[ It seems like the least that he can do. ]
soldiergenes: (and fear rolls like thunder)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2016-09-30 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Don't worry, Meh, the number of people he could call friend here can probably be counted on one hand. ]

I'll look out for as many people as I can.

[ It's not much of a promise, but it's something.

At that point he's reached the medbay, so he ends the call on his MID and walks right up to Meh, nodding in greeting. ]

So, how do we do this? I just get in the cryo pod?

I'd try to convince you to stay, but... Actually, I think you're doing the right thing.

There's no need to thank me. [She's trying not to sound too sad - to smile, even - but it's there all the same.] I'm just happy I got to know you.

Do you have any plans? Anything you want to do?
keelahselai: (human all the way down)

[personal profile] keelahselai 2016-09-22 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[If she could convince Meh that there's no need for her to spend the entire rest of her life mired in guilt, she'd try.]

Well, I hope wherever you end up, it's better than this. [She pauses.] I don't know if I want to stay on this ship long enough to go home. Who knows, I might run into you someday.
keelahselai: (seriously that's a ceiling fan)

[personal profile] keelahselai 2016-09-25 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been a long time since I chose anything for myself. When I do, I'm going to make it worth it.

You're not going on your own, are you?

[She laughs softly.] I don't know any of them, but I'm glad you're going to be with people. I won't have to worry about you as much.

Maybe they can keep you out of trouble. [Said as if Yewll doesn't spend her entire life in the medbay decidedly out of trouble.]
