Hello everyone. This is Nico Robin, your ship's historian speaking.
[The black-haired woman gives a small, knowing smile into the MID. She's about 20 years older than she was the last time she made a network post, and seems a lot more at peace with giving her name to the crew at large.]
I was wondering if anyone might direct me to Allison Ruth. I haven't seen her in.... Oh, about two decades, and I'd really like to catch up.
[Robin can't seem to contact her MID anymore, and she knows what that might mean. But with all the time warp shenanigans going on around here, she'd like some confirmation before she assumes the worst.]
And this isn't related, but I've gotten really tired of walking these halls barefoot. Does anyone know anywhere on the ship that I might find some shoes in my size? Two matching pairs, ideally.

voice;
Do you still remember people from here? If ya remember Allison...
[Do you still know me, she wants the ask.]
I think the machines sent her home.
Video;
Of course I do. I couldn't ever forget about you, Sine.
[A warm smile follows that, even if she's hurt to learn that Allison wasn't around anymore.]
Oh my, you really haven't aged a day.
voice;
[She sounds a little petulant even in the face of Robin's warmth. Her best friend is an adult and while she was used to being surrounded by older people, it makes her sharply miss having another child to connect to.]
You got to grow up.
[You live, is what she means and it sounds far more hopeful than warranted. People were she's from often died before leaving their teens, it's nice to think Robin would have a long life by Zone standards.]
Re: voice;
[ She jokes, but it's hard to miss the unhappy tone in Sine's voice. Her own voice takes on a more sympathetic tone. ]
I did, yes. It wasn't easy, and a lot of people got hurt, but I've managed to live this long.
[ As much of an accomplishment as that may be, she doesn't sound all that proud of herself. Her job is far from finished, after all.]
It's been a long time, from my perspective. I'm so glad I got to see you again.
voice;
[It sounds tired coming out of her mouth, like something she's heard often repeated and knows too well. But still, she's going to take comfort in seeing Robin's alive and well, and shakes off the creeping thoughts.]
Me too. [A breath.] How long's it been? I mean, ya look pretty old now. Like in your twenties or somethin'. And where are ya? Don't got any shoes for ya, but-
[She cuts off with an unseen shrug. She just wants to see Robin, is all.]

I do not have adult shoes, but if you do become your normal age again I have at least some spares. [Frisk and Chara tended to swap shoes, so they're laying around her shared room now.]
[video]
[ She's 6'2 now, which is slightly above average for a human woman as far as this ship goes. Honestly, though, in her own world she's not considered tall at all. Her last employer has two feet of height over her. ]
That's very kind of you to offer, but to be honest, I'm hoping that I stay this way. The thought of losing twenty years of experience isn't very appealing.
[Nor is the thought of reliving those awful years - though she won't say as much.]
Besides, I'd hate to steal them from Frisk and Chara. I'd need just need the left shoes, too, so two of them would have to go to waste if you gave them to me.

Which isn't to say that she isn't entirely willing to help, but she does have a bit of an amused smirk on her lips. ]
There are a few places you can go. The library isn't very helpful when it comes to this ship's, but you could always approach Ira and Egan. For that matter, Then and Curré almost certainly know a thing or two, as well.
The problem with that, of course, is revisionism. None of those people will tell you more than a portion of what they know. The best course of action, in my opinion, is to try talking to everyone who has been here for more than a few months.
And, of course, if you'd like to look through my notes to see what I've learned, you need only ask. My office doors are open to any crew member interested in our history.

[Are you writing this down, Nate? She's serving up a heaping helping of knowledge, just for you.]
It's on the Nomo Deck. [She gives him the room number.] When you arrive, I'll fill you in on what I know.

my favorite part's finding new things that prove arceologists wrong
[Apparently his least favorite part is spelling.]
on my way
[Defying expectations, the Nate that knocks on her door, notebook in hand, is very much... teenaged. Not even as old as that young one on the network complaining about being taken away from jail.]
