You and me both. There are a lot of places that seem to just be there and have no main purpose. If you don't mind not having certain luxuries they could be passable sleeping areas.

What sort of luxuries would you be missing if you took up camp somewhere else? You could always venture back into your assigned room if you needed to.

Some of the rooms don't seem to be set up for human comfort for the long run. So just warning about that in case you need to plan how to dismantle and move furniture.

I wouldn't think so. I've slept in other rooms, engineering... There's no curfew or anything.

But it wouldn't matter if you just changed rooms. It's not a big deal.

But changing rooms is public domain, you're harder to pin down if they don't actually know where you really are sleeping.

That's...true. But your room is the only one on the ship you can lock people out of. If you start sleeping in the cargo bay or something, anybody could catch you unawares.

Tactically that is sound, if there isn't the fact one shares a room with one or more persons that may grant access as well.


I may also wish to avoid certain aspects on this ship that giving a clear indication of where I could be found and thus ambushed upon leaving isn't an ideal situation.

There's no one to enforce anything. I didn't sleep in the assigned room for a while. Don't advise unlocking doors, though.

Well, let's hope my asking about such doesn't make someone decide it does need enforcing. For 'crew morale' or such.


There are other ways besides a door that can possibly be overridden to use for safety.

Please don't override anything, either. It's not the doors themselves, it's what gets locked up behind them.
