You know, this kind of transdimensional grab bag usually sets off a few alarm bells. Integrity of the space time continuum, multiples of the same person in the same space affecting Reality As We Know It, blah blah blah. This is pretty low key. Like hi, welcome to your new home, here's a really ugly uniform, a job and a room assignment. Don't mind the teenagers necking in your room, that's just a thing.

One thing I do like? Crew roster. Nice, simple way to check to see if there's anyone familiar; archenemies, familiar code names, family members from different dimensions who might not know who you are, ex-boyfriends who need to get their teeth punched in... [ She was making a point here. ]

Some of you need to work on your code names, though. Like I get being part of a legacy, but we have like five different Snakes. Five. [ More like three, but she's not gonna let a silly thing like facts stop her. ] That's way too many snakes for this ship. Venom I get, it sounds like someone who probably runs around Gotham and changes their alignment every day of the week, but whatever, I guess if Catwoman can, you can too. Live the dream. The other two need to flip a coin or something.

Or, wild idea, but go with me on this: pick another animal, be your own hero and/or villain, break free of the legacy cycle! You know who never looks stressed out? Heroes who aren't part of a legacy.

Well there are legacies in older heroes, too. Dr. Fate is on his second host now. Plus the Blue Beetle has had a few different faces.

[ Note to self: maybe mention not to talk about Fate to Zatanna. Jaime, on the other hand, is free game. ]

I thought there was just Ted Kord and that one guy from years ago. I mean, not anymore, since they're both... Ya know...

A new one joined my team recently. He's a good kid, though kind of weird...

If you ever met him you'd know what I mean. He... talks to himself. Or to his scarab. It's hard to tell.

Okay, that is a little weird. Is he literally a beetle? I thought Kord was all tech.

No, he's a human. When Kord died there was an explosion in his lab, Jaime was nearby and a piece of armor tech ended up fusing to his spine.

What is it with superheroes and explosions.

I thought the bad guys were the ones who were about explosions. We're just the ones who have to clean up after it.

The bad guys are the ones who make them happen, but it always seems like a lot of us have "Something blew up and now I have powers" backstories. Mine's basically that, only it's a planet instead of a lab.

We only broke the lab I came out of a bit, we didn't go through any explosions.

Mine punched me through a building and kidnapped me to his weird stalker-y lair. Like pictures of my face all over the walls.

I dropped a mountain on him. [ So that makes everything better, obviously. ]

Not the same, but I get it.
