There's been a change of plans concerning former crewman Ploiatos.

I'm sure most people have heard about him by now, but with Mana disconnected from the ship and him asserting control, we can't allow him to take over. Especially as the effects are so dangerous to the current crew.

So we can't wait for him to stand trial. We need to quarantine and dispose of him. [And for this, he has some sympathy for their current captains. They spoke highly of the man Ploiatos was before he changed, and even knowing that he's not what he was making the decision to murder once loyal crew isn't an easy one.]

If this wasn't absolutely necessary I wouldn't advocate it. It sets a bad precedent. But this isn't just a case of killing a crewman that's become a danger to us without exploring other options. Ploiatos has been on board for over a year and during the entire time remained a consistent, pervasive threat.

So to stop what is happening to the ship we have to do what we have to do.

We'll need affected areas of the ship quarantined until he's removed and we'll need non-combatants placed out of range of the ship. Since there's nowhere to dock currently, we're looking at using transporters. And once Ploiatos himself fully contained we need to dispose of him. There should be several options open to us and given that there has been significant changeover in crew, a lot more we don't know about. [Considering how many people have their own special abilities.] Remember that Crewman Ploiatos is confused by large numbers of people and we can use that to our advantage. That's how he was contained the first time.

After that... well we can focus on repairing his damage.

I can certainly offer some assistance. I've been making some headway with a certain... issue of mine, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. In fact, it might even be an asset.

Barring that, though, I'm always up for a fight. We ejecting him out into space?

Don't know yet. But the idea is he'll have to be most definitely dead. Completely destroyed.

I don't know yet if he can survive something like an airlock.

Yes, I suppose the last thing we need is him swimming through space only to find us again at a later date. With enough firepower, though, metaphorical or literal, we should be able to manage something.

At the very minimum I would expect ten. Four transporter pilots. Four individuals to section off corrupted areas of the ship. At least two to dispose of Ploiatos.

But to be honest, this is a "the more the merrier" situation. Especially with clean-up and damage control afterwards.

I'm afraid I'm rather new here and know very little of the problem at hand. I'd like to gather a bit more information before offering assistance with anything.

Might I ask about more details regarding this Ploiatos person and how it is he's able to affect the ship?

Ploiatos was an original member of the crew, recently discovered to have been corrupted by the Ingress. Originally he was known as having appeared to the current crew and attacked them and Mana, the ship's navigation- [officer? He doesn't know if that's the right term. He leaves that there.] He couldn't be killed at the time, only contained, and it took several people leading him into an enclosed area. Somehow perception is directly tied to his capacity for mobility. If someone isn't looking at him he can act incredibly fast. If more than one person is focused on him, he can be cornered and herded.

At some point he managed to assert some sort of control over the ship, which is the reason for the current ill-effects on the vessel.

I will. Especially once a positive method of containment is decided on.

The clearest route would be the best route, but I'm still not sure what sections of the ship are subject to corruption. We need more intel.

I'm not up to full strength yet after my injury, so I don't think I can help with the fight, but I can definitely help with the evacuation effort.

What current skills can you use currently that are less affected by your injury?

Tactical skills. You have to be able to plan a thing like this. And I'm still able to shoot. I just haven't gotten up to full strength in my recovery and I'd worry about overshooting my capabilities because of that if I went in to help fight.

[ If that's anywhere at all. Snake isn't sure how much good he'll be in this situation. He doesn't have any special abilities that could stop Ploiatos. All he's got are guns, and they've already established that shooting him won't work. It's going to take something a lot more powerful and a lot more supernatural to put him down.

Snake's not a pilot, either, which means the most he can do is try to make sure that people stay out of the way while this all goes down.

Still, Miller's putting himself on the line by organizing all this, and Snake will do whatever he can. ]

[While Miller is worried for everyone overestimating themselves, he's also determined that this job requires two sets of eyes. Those are the important parts, not one person with super powers.]

We need either assistance with the evacuations or in corralling this thing in a contained area. What do you know about it so far?

I was here the first time it got out. I know it can't do much if people stay in groups.

[ Though that's a huge assumption, Snake knows. It's not like they can really speak with Ploiatos. If they could, they probably wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. ]

I can do either of those things -- again, so long as people know to stick together.

To be honest I think that Ploiatos's situation is actually more dangerous to the ship than the presence of the other technological infection.

I think it may have cost us some valuable time. [Not that he's blaming people that had to deal with it, because it needed to be dealt with, but the timing has very much worked against them.]

[She had been wondering how long it would take to come to this. While she hated the idea of ending a life that could potentially be saved, the imminent danger that Ploiatos posed to the ship, especially given the current status of things, couldn't be ignored. They had to think about the lives on the ship and what was best for them, as much as she hated what that meant.]

At this rate we will really need people to section off damaged areas of the ship and to help in leading Ploiatos to his capture point. Either would be extremely useful.

[While she's not exactly jumping at the chance to wrangle Ploiatos, she'll do it if it's necessary. But given she wasn't exactly thrilled, she had a feeling plenty of others weren't either, so the need there might be greater.]

I don't know why he was being kept alive prior to the change in administration. Maybe no one knew how to kill him or the resources couldn't be spent. After the new captains I suspect it's because he'd been fairly non-active and he also used to be a loyal member of their crew.

Compare that to the weight of a bunch of untrained crew you've never been acquainted with and are doing a minimum of work on board your ship.

I know if I were about to lose crew, I'd do what I could to save them. But in his case, it's for the best.
