003 - Video

[The feed starts, as Robin holds her MID out away from herself a bit, giving the crew a good look at her.

It's weird, putting herself on display like this - she'd only made a few other posts on the network, but they had been text. Now, though... she's made the decision not to hide her face anymore. Besides, if someone wants to contact her in person, it'll be important that they know what she looks like.

What she looks like is a small child with black hair and... three arms. Even as she starts recording, she's multitasking - scribbling down notes with one hand in a notebook, about some pamphlets and brochures she's gotten from the planets that she's leafing through with another. Her third arm is, of course, holding her MID up.]

I'm busy, so I'll make this quick. My name is Robin and I became the ship's historian a few weeks ago.

If any of you come across any useful or interesting information about the ship or this planet's, please let me know. Send me a message, or come see me in my office on the Nomo deck.

[She only glances up at the camera occasionally as she begins to speak.]

Also if you're planning on doing some exploring and you want some help, you can send me a message as well. I can get past most locked doors, and I don't mind helping you if I can learn something from it.

[Maybe not the wisest thing to advertise over the network, but Robin doesn't mind breaking rules or getting in trouble in search of the truth.

She stops writing for a moment and looks directly at the camera, wearing a serious expression. Time to address the possibility of someone from her own world being here:]

...lastly, if anyone recognizes my name or my face from the posters back home, don't bother contacting me. You can just go to hell instead.

[Well that certainly is an... abnormal name attached to this post. Robin's tempted to comment on it, but decides to hold back for now.]

I'm fine by myself, I was just offering in case anyone else needed a hand.

[Sorry, Odd, Robin doesn't know you and she isn't exactly quick to trust people.]

[Allison sighs dramatically.] Leaving me alone just before I consider expanding!

I'm just kidding. I'm proud of you, Fingers, I know how much history means to you.

[Robin responds with a small smile.]

I wouldn't have helped you carry all that junk in into the cafe anyway.

[Which isn't to say that she won't enjoy the amenities now that she's not an employee anymore.]

Historian? How's that supposed to work?

[It's an honest question. The basic idea behind history she understands, but it seems strange to apply it here.]

It's pretty simple.

What do you know about the Moira? Where did it come from? What did it go through before we all started showing up through the ingress?

I want to have answers to those questions.

Never thought about it, but when you put it that way, I guess knowing all that stuff would be pretty important. Least for the people who plan on sticking around.

Captains give you any useful info to start with?

I wouldn't either. They're all a few cards short of a full deck. Barely seem to even know how this thing runs.

Kinda makes you wonder how they got to be in charge of it to begin with. They find it on the streets or something?

From what I understand they were just the first ones to show up through the ingress. There used to be four of them.

I'm not sure how they figured out where to go to get it fixed, though.

[She doesn't know that she'd say she, specifically is important - or at least not any more important than she was before the promotion.]

It's not much, just a room with some books in it, but it's mine. Do you wanna see it, Sine?

In other words, they really have no idea what this thing is or what they're supposed to be doing with it.

[She says so completely calmly, as if it's not that big of a deal at all to reveal. Really, it shouldn't be, it isn't as though there aren't all sorts of other people on the ship with powers.

As if to demonstrate her point, a hand sprouts up on the table in front of her and turns the page of her book, before disappearing.]

Anything else you wanted to ask?

Yeah, I need information about where the ship has been in the past. You have any?

Make sure history knows how inept the captains are, darling. You'll be doing us a service.

[she looks about to close the feed, but hesitates.]

What's this about a poster, now?

Oh, yeah. I know that. I was asking for myself. Which I should have just said.

[He's way out his depths here but he thinks exploring might help.]

But if you aren't free, send whoever you've got my way.

I research the past, it's not my job to record the present. [Which isn't to say that she isn't doing it, but officially that's someone else's job.] Don't worry though, I intend to learn as much as I can about the Captains.

[So they'll probably all be learning about the captains' previous ineptitude, if anything.

As for the poster thing, Robin hesitates as well before answering.]

...I'm pretty well known where I come from. I have a wanted poster.

Before this was a planet called Amissis-Re, it only had one person and an Ingress on it. Before that was Del-Pascia, which was a space prison whose prisoners had all been turned into zombies. Before that was Ceta, where the air wasn't breathable and skies were full of flying whales - and also the people who hunted them.

[A pause.]

Those are just the ones I've seen with my own eyes, though. Before Ceta was Emiri, which... nobody ever has much to say about. I need to research that one a little more. Before that, they went a while without going anywhere - from what I can tell, something got on the ship and they had to contain it.

Before that was Caducus Primary... [She pauses again, her tone goes from casually listing things, to one that's a bit more grim.] ... one of the people still on this ship destroyed that planet. I don't have the numbers of how many people died - I don't think anyone does.

I think there was a planet before that, but I don't have its name or any information about it, really. The ship's crew started appearing a little before that point, though and I haven't found any records from before they started appearing through the Ingress.

[Another pause. She wasn't there for Caducus Primary, but the idea of it really bothers her - especially the thought that the person who did it is still on the ship with them.]

...I can tell you what I know about any of those places. I'm actually more interested in learning about what happened on this ship before it arrived, though. We still don't even know where it came from.

[And enormous gaps in known history are sort of her specialty.]

[Robin smiles at that, and you can sort of hear it in her voice. Okay, she'll take the compliment.]

Yeah, it's on the Nomo deck.

It isn't very big, and there's not much furniture, but yeah. It's just for me.

[Robin squints at that for just a second - she isn't sure if this guy was just too proud and/or awkward to admit he wanted help, or if he's just really trying to meet with her in person for some reason.]

If you want help, I can come. Show me what you look like first though, so I know who to look for.

[Best to get a look at this guy's face before they meet up, in case he tries something.]

If what they've told people is true, maybe. What I know for sure is that WE don't know what this thing is or what we're supposed to do with it.

But I've seen the maps and the course we're following. They have a destination. I'm just not sure how they found it, if it really is the right place to go.

[Did someone say the word HISTORY. He'll get back to the arm thing in a second because 1) the ship history could be very useful and 2) he is a nerd and he loves history.]

How much actual history of the ship have you already gotten down?
