002, the afternoon of the 18th
[When Robin had first received her wanted poster in the mail, she had been mortified. When she started receiving messages about it from other people, that emotion changed into one of fear, suspicion and paranoia. The first thing she'd done in response was to head down into the prison planet, away from the Moira and the crew she no longer felt safe around.
It had been more than twenty four hours since then, though , and she's since come to terms with the fact that this isn't a permanent solution. She won't be able to stay on the prison planet forever, and even if she could she certainly didn't want to. Besides the obvious fact that it's a prison, things were starting to get strange down there.
It didn't take long to realize that this isn't the sort of problem she's going to be able to run from - not yet, at least. Even if she isn't ready to board the Moira again, she needs to get out ahead of this problem. ]
This is Nico Robin.
I know some of you got my posters in the mail. I was hoping to know, how many?
[ The first step of dealing with a problem is figuring out how much of one she's dealing with, after all. Maybe if it's just one or two people, she can bribe or threaten them into keeping their mouths shut. Maybe, if she's lucky, she can prevent her face from being associated with that name.]

Re: ☄ PRIVATE
There are people on this ship a lot worse than what your wanted poster says, whether or not any of it's true.
[She can't blame her if she did run, though. She doesn't want her climbing into ship ducts though and potentially finding trouble that would be difficult to rescue her from.]
☄ PRIVATE
[It's different, okay? Some of the people here might have awful things they've done or been blamed for, but they're mostly adults - some of them are even giant robots. They aren't targets or easy marks or someone people feel should be kept on a leash.
Before Robin was brought on board the Moira, her life had been a series of betrayals. People taking her in, telling her that they'll protect her - only to sell her out when they found out who she really was, or when it became convenient. It doesn't matter what Yewll or anyone else says - they'll all turn on her sooner or later. She needs to find a way to move on from the Moira before it comes to that.]
It's true. It's all true.
[No, it's not. But if she doesn't have the facade of a fake name to fall behind anymore, her reputation is one of the few weapons she's got left. If people think she's dangerous, they might be more hesitant to confront or attack her when the time for that inevitable betrayal comes.]
☄ PRIVATE
Where are you going to go?
[She really doesn't want this kid to get hurt. Anyone older, and she'd be more flippant. But this girl, she's genuinely worried about herself. Frightened, and now laid bare by circumstance.]
I would wager you're not the only one lying about your identity too. [She knows for sure she's not.]
☄ PRIVATE
[Or a ship of her own, at least. She can't stay on Del Pascia forever, of course, so she'll have to board the ship for a while, but it's no longer the sort of place she can feel safe on. She's learned to trust her instincts in this matter - even if it means taking a longer trip to get back to her home planet.]
Well I hope those other people don't get a giant target painted on their backs.
☄ PRIVATE
There's no target. I know what it's like to have a target painted on your back, too, and here it doesn't count.
How about I tell you a story. At one time, I was a very wanted person. But I got the chance to help people, and I was able to make sure the lawkeepers wouldn't come after me.
Not everybody forgave me, not everyone will forgive you. But that target really doesn't matter here so you don't have to be that person.
☄ PRIVATE
[She knows how to lie to protect herself. She just didn't think that one would last long enough to really matter.]
That's only true until it isn't anymore.
Maybe you're lucky you were brought here before you had to learn that.
☄ PRIVATE
But trust me. There are people on this boat killing each other on the regular and they're still here. Why would you, someone who hasn't harmed anyone on this ship, be treated as any less than them? Look, I just don't want to see you getting hurt trying to get away from people that probably aren't going to hurt you.
[Unless you're targeted by one of the aforementioned murderers.]
☄ PRIVATE
And you'll either turn me over to them or you'll all die.
[Which isn't to say that she cares about most of the crew's well-being. She just understands that their self-preservation is going to win out over their want to help a criminal like her.]
☄ PRIVATE
Okay, if all of that is true, why did you do it?
☄ PRIVATE
I met a man once who could freeze the ocean with a touch. He froze my best friend to death before my eyes.
[And that best friend, in addition to being a literal Giant, was the person who actually destroyed all of those ships and killed those men - all trying to defend Robin.]
You can't even touch someone with powers like that, and he was just a vice-admiral.
[Actually, you technically can, but Robin doesn't know about haki yet.
As for why she did it, well... She answered part of that question already.]
