[He's overdue for this, it's true. But Tony has been poking around before committing to an introduction. He doesn't rush in quite as recklessly these days thanks to his time with SHIELD. Trying to think more like a spy has paid off in that sense. He connects to the MID, sending his image using a camera that does not look attached to his arm. In fact, it seems to be showing a full body shot, with the camera somewhere across the room.]

My name is Tony Stark. For those who know me, I'm declaring this an emergency in neutral space. Everyone is an ally out here unless you prove otherwise.

For those I haven't met, I'd be happy to change that. Since we're all working together on this problem it doesn't hurt to make more friends. I'm sure everyone has the same goal right now and the more we work together, the faster it will go.

That said, if there's anything I can do for you, let me know. I'm guessing some of us might have arrived a little worse off than others. Just look me up if you need a hand.

Stark, huh?

[Hi, Tony. Have your pops. Well, not your pops, what with the whole lacking-blue-eyes-and-height thing going on, but details. Forgive him if he's looking a little incredulous, because, you know, doppelgangers and sons and all. He also looks about fifty years too young to give a good scolding.]

Well, that explains a lot. [He doesn't sound upset, though, just thoughtful.] Expecting a lot of people to know you all the way out here?

[Well, that's awkward. He thought he was ready for this, but now here he is, talking to his old man and maybe he really wasn't so ready. The other familiar names needed to see his face, which was what brought him to this point, but he was hoping by now to have a better idea of what he would say if Howard answered.

Here goes nothing.]

You don't get a monopoly on the name, unfortunately. I hope that isn't a disappointment for you.

[He's trying to appear casual. How does one talk to their father when they barely remember how decent conversations went? He was a lot younger then. "Look what I made" probably won't cut it.]

I do expect that, actually. It's a big name.

[Given how young Howard is right now, "Look what I made" would probably be exactly the right way to strike up a conversation. As it is right now, though, he's trying to figure out which one of them is more on the defensive.]

I noticed. Looks like I'm outnumbered two to one. [He lets himself smile, easy and a little wry.] Is it? I've heard it's a name that's gotten out of the weapons game.

[Which is... yeah. Not a bad thing, but not really something he ever expected. If it's still true for thisStark, then maybe it's a welcome inevitability.]

Not everyone is going to be eager to make friends just because you say you're friendly.

[Well, there's a familiar face. There seems to be a lot of those around here. Whether it's one that will recognize him in return or not, he's not sure, but...

In the end, he pops on video.]

It might take people a little while to feel like everyone is an ally.

[The plots thickens. Jadzia had already meant one man who'd introduced himself as Tony Stark and now here was another. Unexpectedly though (you know if you were used to parallel universes) they didn't look that alike, save for taste in facial hair. But the personality? Too simililar for it to just be too men who happened to share a common name.]

Ah, so, Tony...is Tony okay? Mr. Stark? Seems like there's an awful lot of that last name around here. Any relation?

I think with all the Steve Rogers I have met and all the Tony Starks I have met I feel like I am to work on a chess set of eagles and whiskey bottles.

[As far as Matt can tell there aren't many names he recognises on board and those he does know are definitely not their enemies. Tony's words by itself would have elicited confusion, but when he listens closer to the recording it's the absence of a repulsor tech node makes clear reference to what Tony knows.

Registration.

Of course Matt would have been on the anti-registration side... if he was actually around and not just letting Danny run around in his costume. However that was in the past and Tony has recently garnered a lot of goodwill from Matt after rescuing him from Latveria.]

That's a very generous offer, Stark.

Good to see people on board willing to step up and encourage cooperation. I'm grateful for your offer.

If only more inhabitants shared your attitude right now.

[This one is at least trying not to be, but that probably just shows more. He's trying to keep a level expression and pleasant demeanor while talking to his dead father when Howard would have berated him for being too soft. How do you play nice and be a real man at the same time? One of those mysteries Tony has yet to solve.]

I noticed. Maybe the Ingress likes us.

[He hesitates, unsure of how exactly to respond to that not-quite-inquiry. Maybe things are different in their world. He can't speak for the other Tony even though he'd like to think they're alike enough.]

Is that what he told you?

True, but I think we could all use some friends given our current situation. We're sort of stuck relying on each other anyway. Might as well make the best of it.

[There's one check in. Good. Tony inclines his head slightly to acknowledge that point, but he looks mostly unfazed by the logic.]

We've apparently got the time. I know it'll take some work, but I would like to keep everyone on the same page. At least for now.

[He smiles with a mildly pained resignation at her comment. Who knew sharing could get this bad? Not that he doesn't like himself. (He mostly likes himself.) But this is a lot of family in a short time and he's not sure what he really thinks of it all yet.]

Tony's just fine. It's... yes. I've noticed that too. Maybe it's a fashion statement.

[Side-stepping the real answer just a bit. That's technically not avoidance, right? He's delaying. Yeah.]

[Ouch. He doesn't quite manage to resist flinching at that.]

Really? In that case, it's only fair you introduce yourself too. You already know multiple of me but I don't think I've seen your face before.

Just trying to do my part.

[He's a little stiff when he says that. Not harsh or defensive, but he is trying a bit harder to make his point. Just in case. He's tired of doing damage control and frankly he expects Matt to be smart enough not to tangle with him out of the comfort of his home turf anyway. Of the two of them, Tony's pretty confident that he's got the advantage in an unfamiliar environment.

But if he can settle things without starting a pissing contest? He'd rather do that.]

Besides, you know I hate to say this, but I think we need the help.

Or maybe our captains do. [There's something a little sardonic in his voice.] 'Twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action', I think is how it goes?

[Three Starks on a ship that loks, so far, as though it's not having too much difficulty getting to its destination. It seems like overkill - but it might just be speculative paranoia.

Howard cocks his head a little.] He did. Not the same for you?

[He answers the text without breaking the video which is one advantage to changing your whole biology.]

I'm glad someone thinks so. I was starting to wonder if everyone else was against the idea of working together.

Are you saying we might be part of enemy action?

[He's teasing, but it's a thought he files away to consider. The possibility is there if they don't know the Moira's mission directives.

And then comes that question, and Tony's expression tightens. He looks to the side for some kind of relief, but doesn't find any.]

That... I don't really think this is a good place to discuss this.

It's a working theory, but I like to keep my options open.

[He doesn't trust as easily anymore, and definitely not after he's been kidnapped. It's a hell of a ride so far, but that doesn't mean any of those four can be counted on to have anyone but their own interests in mind.

And huh. That's... an interesting reaction.]

Sure. Got a place to meet handy?

[That's not what he meant that's not what he meant HOWARD damn it!

He takes a breath and resists pinching the bridge of his nose.]

We aren't exactly in... The main hall is quiet. We can talk there.

Got it.

[Howard cuts the comm and makes his way there, picking out a relatively unobtrusive spot to wait for his-- wait for this Tony Stark. He has his hands shoved in his pockets, but despite his casual stance it's easy enough to see that this Howard isn't identical to the one Tony grew up with. He's shorter, for one, brown-eyed instead of blue and, most noticeably, he's young. Straight out of the war and not even thirty.

He watches Tony approach, already assessing the differences, the similarities.]

[Mildly:] You should have said it then as well.

[It's a simple statement, he's not trying to assign blame or show resentment.]

But you can't do anything here? It doesn't bode well for the rest of us if the man who can build anything doesn't know what to do.

[He scowls at that. Not harshly, but it's a frown of distaste with everything and irritation at being called out, even if Matt doesn't sound particularly accusatory. He still feels it.]

You don't think I was trying to- [No. Stop picking fights. When is he going to learn to stop pushing back?]

I didn't say I don't know what to do. This is what I'm doing. I'm- We need to cooperate.

[He takes a little time to get there, deciding how he wants to appear. He knows that this Howard is probably related to the other Tony. He would know his own father even after all this time. But it still makes him uneasy, so when he shows up to meet Howard, he's walking stiffly, head held high even though he's already taller than the other man.

And older, it seems. That's awkward.]

I would have preferred to save that sort of talk for a personal call. No one else needs to know about our business.

[If he knew how much Niko liked Vodka and disliked America, that statement would make a little more sense.]

Niko Bellic.

And yeah, it happens in places like this. Don't worry about it. You might run into a me who likes pogo sticks. Who the fuck knows anymore.
