3 questions.

1. What is the mortality rate?

2. Who enforces discipline?

[ You can learn a lot about the culture of a ship through its rules. He rules out HYDRA -- they're usually more cruel and efficient than this. Here, he and the others are animals in a trap, at the mercy of unknown entities powerful enough to draw and keep all of them in here. He doesn't give voice to these thoughts.

Eyes and ears in the walls, in these devices -- he doesn't trust them, his paranoia is his greatest asset. ]

3. Where and when were you from, at the moment you were taken?

[There's a particularly long pause before Robin gives him his answer.]

I was somewhere in the West Blue, the year was 1502.

I won't be more specific than that, though.

1. Not at all. A little bit higher than I'm used to. I might be something of a pilot, but... well, space is different.

3. Something like that, yes.

[An internal war, combined with whatever you'd call what he was working at.]

Really keeps you busy.

1. Cryoamnesia for my cousin. Don't know about everyone else.
2. Hell if I know. It's complicated and I haven't done anything to land myself in a position where I'm gonna find out.
3. Just spent a year there, embassy duty in London. But the planet itself doesn't really matter much anymore, except as the place where humanity began.

1. I think some get bored with it.

2. And you have a fake arm. And you are called Bucky. And you don't really laugh much. And you are friend to Steve Rogers.

Another man like you helped me break a code once. Because I knew longitude and latitude and could pinpoint map locations after he picked out the numbers that do not match up in the series.

1. I don't know that there are bodies. The Ingress might have sent them home. Or somewhere else random. Not a lot of evidence of murders when there should have been.

2. I would say for all the killers on board? Experienced veterans? Violence among ourselves has been surprisingly limited. There are attempts at boosting morale and creating unity, but it's always difficult when housing people that could be enemies in their native homes. It was a problem we had a lot in the MSF. Though because the captains don't dismiss people that inflict violence on their fellow crew, alternative forms of punishment are used.

Honestly, that's what makes me doubt that disappearances are related to any sort of intended killing or culling of the population. Most of the evidence has been that the captains want to retain their numbers at all possible costs. That's still speculative.

1. Fair. Then I'll put it that very little explanation is given.

2. Always the captains, however much of the process is delegated. Violence usually ends in someone being locked in the Hold until the matter's settled. The Hold officers do the locking, various crew handle any investigating -- the chain of command can be unclear but so far there've been few cases to test jurisdiction on. The voting's new. What you're looking at is a work in progress.

3. No. Crew of twenty, wormhole travel only. We were the fastest ship in our fleet, but this ship's speed and the Ingress and its technology are impossibilities back home.
[even on Bel's home planet, Beta Colony, whose R&D is the envy of the Wormhole Nexus.] Not to mention, we don't have spooky whispering corridors or rooms that nobody on the crew can enter.

You won't be alone -- there are others on board from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. At least getting kidnapped like this has been an education.

1. we've got a morgue on-board and it's not public access. make of it what you will.

2. ex - superpower inhibition, therapy

i've been here about a month. it's about how long i've been looking

[ And through the CDC before that. Enough of the trends don't match to discredit some old theories — but, ]

the first thing you're going to notice is how many of those aboard are human. or near to it.

the second thing is that there seem to be clusters. people from similar worlds, all pulled in together. like those dimensions have more gravity somehow. not literally, of course

2. You'd have to ask them. Maybe they don't know. Or maybe they're trying to keep it a secrets. Hell if I know.

3. Short story: China and the United States of America decided that they hated each other because of resource shortages and crap. The USA got paranoid about Alaska because of the oil up there. The USA refused to share and was afraid that other countries would try to take it. China invaded Alaska, the USA invaded and annexed Canada...the whole thing's a fucking mess.

[ Emotional outbursts got people killed. Honestly. And that kind of mindset wasn't exactly easy to snap out of. She kept her meltdowns private and that was her intention on the ship if she ever needed to.

As soon as she actually found a private spot. ]

Ok. Meet me in the garden in an hour.
Towards the back, by the 'do not touch' sign.

[ It's not an area people tend to wander towards, and if anyone got suspicious... Call her paranoid, but if anyone did it'd just be two people having a private conversation in the garden. Not as open of a place as the Observation Deck or Mess Hall and in the back corner, she'd be able to keep an eye on anyone coming close. ]

Sound good?

[He's pleased the comment actually got him a visual, flashing Bucky a large grin before he switches to something more neutral to speak. It's not a happy topic.]

Honestly? I can't tell what the difference is. The captain's have video of all the murders; they showed us just after each of them so we could vote on what to do. You might be able to ask for the footage. I don't know if it will tell you anything, but you might be able to see some difference.

Oh my God—Oh my God!

[ Bucky starts grabbing his head like it's threatening to split in half. This really is too much to take in at once. None of this makes sense, at all. How can this stranger be him when they have barely anything in common except for a name and a friendship with Steve Rogers? ]

Okay, I'm... I think I'm tapped out right now. Yeah, I'm done. So, it was lovely to meet you. I'm sure we'll be.... forced to finish this conversation at a later time.

The ship is led by the Captains. There are a few other acting officers and personnel.

A lot of people brought here are military, but I don't believe this is a military ship.

1. Higher than it should be given that we're all a bunch of kidnapping victims, but also somewhat negated by the fact that many deaths are somehow "reversed".

2. The Captains ultimately, but there are likely crew members assigned to that particular task.

3. Malibu, California, [insert date from nebulous timeline because MARVEL here]. What about you?

Hell if I know. One moment I was in my shuttle, the next I was coming out of the Ingress on Caducus Primary.
