Find it hard to believe or not, it is a thing that happened. You don't know what kind of people those were, or how strong.

These people used cuffs to make us weak. We could not properly fight back, no matter how strong we were. They sometimes used them to torture their crew.

At least these guys haven't done anything like that.

But that is another thing about alternate universes. In some, your friends aren't around anymore.
