[The video opens on a strange, arcane device that some knowledgeable in ancient technology may know as a “DVD projector.” The voice of one Alan Bradley narrates in the background.]
So: this appeared in the library’s computer lab today. Along with all of these…
[The camera pans up, showing a stack of DVD cases, spines pointed towards the camera. The viewer can read the titles: The Day The Earth Stood Still, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The War of the Worlds, It Came from Outer Space, Forbidden Planet, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.]
They’re movies from Earth. Old ones, at the time I was living, but I think some of them have held up pretty well. [Was that a bit of preemptive defensiveness on his part? Probably not.]
I’d rather not keep these all to myself, so I thought maybe I’d set up a little viewing party if anyone’s interested. I know we’ve all been busy since coming here, but it might be a nice distraction for an evening or two. [A quiet huff of laughter.] Plus, I’ve already seen all of these. I’d hate for them to just vanish as quickly as they appeared without anyone new watching.
By the way, is anyone here handy with a needle and thread? I have an idea for a screen...
[Attached is a time and date for the viewing party, as well as a location: the theater in the Hall of Music. Bring your own popcorn.]
(OOC: Open movie mingle log here!)
