[There's no particular view, just some market stalls, off kilter and moving a little as Yondu starts talking in his drawl (which sounds markedly southern U.S.).] So, I'm tryin' to build up a collection again. I get little figurines. You know, of animals and people and stuff? And I line my workspace with 'em. Sort of good luck charms. [His blue hand comes into view, showing what looks like a tiny porcelain deer person about four inches tall or so. And it is, frankly, adorable.]

But see, I didn't exactly show up with any of 'em.

So I'm lookin' for some new ones. So tell me if y'all come across any places that got good selections of these sort of things.

This is another'n I got. [And he switches items, showing a jeweled frog thing. He misses his cute little collection of adorable crap. Don't question it.] Just as an example.

[Needless formality is practically their calling card. Funny thing, that. They smile with an ease that rosies the natural pink of their cheeks - entirely too practiced to be wholly sincere, but not blatantly unpleasant.]

Truthfully, gum is not my preference. These packages have been languishing in my Pacdisc for some time, unappreciated.

[ He's... a little surprised. Halfway by the blue face attached to an accent he mostly associates with his best friend. And the other half goes to this guy being so upfront with his love for little figurines. He almost doesn't respond until he remembers he's actually seen a stall with something like that.

Takes a few minutes for him to find his way back but once he does, he turns his A.C.E on and holds the figurine up for Yondu to see. ]

Just don't gift wrap it in a bait and switch this time, boy. You got no idea how pissed off the crew got about that.

[His response is still video, because he's decided to look over a booth of wooden odds and ends. Nothing particular in there yet.]

[And what is wrong with little figurines? That said, he snaps his fingers when he sees what's being shown to him.]

[ There's nothing wrong with it! He just expected old ladies to like that sort of thing.

Kirk looks up before setting the figurine down. He moves his camera to show the area around the stall, ]

Uh, looks like between a... seamstress and a fruit stall... Or you can just look for the purple tarp.

[ Because, as Yondu will see, the tarp above the figurine stall is a very particular shade of purple. ]

[ That probably takes away the 'collecting' part of the whole idea though. ]

How would you go about doin' that?

[Well, who says collecting one that way wouldn't count?]

Yeah, alright. I'll reckon I'll head your way.

[And he's off. It doesn't take long for Yondu to show up, pushing through the crowd with occasional bumps of elbows and shoulders to get to Kirk. Being that he's his own unique color, it's probably pretty easy to see him coming.]

Affirmative.

[ He clicks the video off and waits. Yondu is honestly easier to spot than most in the crowd of Kaittans. He gives a nod when they make eye contact and gestures to the figurines once Yondu is there. ]

This is the only stall I've seen with them. They look and feel more like glass, though.

[ Meaning they fra-gil-ee. ]

I have but I ain't seen the parts to make it yet.

I been on the look out, though.

[He'll never give that up. He can't stand to be stuck in one place.]

Probably'd go pretty good in a big ol' vat of chilli, though. Leave it cookin' long enough? It can make any meat taste decent.

[He's going to run with the joke, because at least this poor kid gets it.]

[After having seen how bad off he was when they first got booted to Avagi, he expects that the kid is just really good at putting up a front. Not that it's different from too many other people he knows.]

Passin' off your unwanted stuff, huh? Alright. I'll give it a try.

[He'll take it. He'll just have to be careful.]

[He picks up the deer, examining the others as he considers. The vendor is staring, too, because these aliens are... well... they're all something else.]

I wish these people just dealt in money.

[He pulls a dart from his coat, lays it on the table in place of the figurine and fixes his red-eyed gaze on the poor sales-person.] How's this? It's Centaurian. I don't reckon you get a lot of us comin' through.

[inconsequence]

[The gum itself is otherwise unremarkable. Packaged in silver foil, bright pink and sweet, and they hand him one of their twenty-four packages, because what else are they going to do with it?]

[Additionally, one small sack of glistening rubies is passed over.]

(It's true. Eddie does get it, and it's not so bad of a joke once he's realized that Yondu is actually a pretty nice guy.

That actually just makes it funnier.)

As long as you actually kill me before cooking me. I don't want to go down like a lobster. That'd suck so much.

[ Kirk can't say he disagrees with the sentiment. But then he's a bit curious about this guy, too. Centaurian isn't something he's ever heard of. ]

Neither have I. And I've been through quite a few systems.

[ The vendor looks at the arrow and then between the two of them, instantly transfixed by this new bit of knowledge. ]

Does your homeworld have a name?

Es tuyo ahora. It is yours now.

[It'll be easy to sniff him out and track him down, but she's at least dropping this message first before she does. She's learned that people don't like kids stalking them.]

[He'll take it! It's unique and, well, it's not really like Yondu gets a lot of presents. That alone makes it special.]

It ain't much of a homeworld, though. It's just where I was born, but I didn't have nothin' to do with it growin' up.

[He wraps his new item in offered brown paper and then puts it in his pocket, intending to keep it from breaking.]

[Maybe this guy will be blessed to have no Kree.]

[ Definitely not a place he's heard of before but he nods, ]

Yeah. A few. Seen a few pink. Green, orange, red, white.

There was this one race that could change their skin color to blend in with their surroundings. One of the coolest things I've seen, to be honest.

[ He gives a small laugh at that and is offered a paper bag, as well. He frowns at it at first, confused, but shrugs and takes it. He picks out another figurine - what looks like a dolphin - and wraps it up before handing it over to Yondu. Kirk doesn't have much use for it. ]

They are really big on sharing stories here, aren't they?
