My leg is broken. As in my prosthetic. [Which is a sufficient excuse for his current lack of the lower half of his leg.] I need a functional replacement of some sort.
[Something to tide him over. He's getting used to it; throwing bits of himself on the sacrificial altar just to win. Now that the anger is starting to ebb and he's starting to feel a little weak and helpless, something he's always unwilling to admit. Giving some of the parts out of his own damn body was the only way he had left to fight any of this.]
[In a way he's waiting for rescue all over again, only this time from the inside.]
I at least need a good crutch. I'm using a metal bar for now, but something that I can put comfortably under my arm would help.
I don't want to ask them for help with it.
[He does have some pride left in there somewhere.]

Miller. I don't mean to bother you since it sounds like you have enough going on already, but if you're available later, I'd like to catch up. Seems I'm missing a considerable amount of time.
-- and if there's anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.
Re: Audio
[Because asking the obvious questions is how things go.]
Yeah. I'll let you know. There's a pool area we can meet by and talk, if you want.
[It's empty but you know. It's not like he's going swimming.]

[Not knowing what exactly has transpired, she won't begrudge him the obvious. She figures she might be wary, too, if the tables were turned.]
Just tell me when, and I'll be there.
[It would give her time to find out where it was, anyway.]
Action
[Properly, he says. This is far from proper. By the time he sends the message it's dark, and he doesn't even have his old prosthetic to walk with. He has a crutch.]
[He finds a plastic lined patio chair to sink his weight into, only thinking after he's down that he might have trouble getting back up. He's gotten too used to his prosthetics; something he should remedy. Or something he should do something permanently about.]
[At least they came in useful one last time.]
[That's how she finds him, though, staring around him in a state of faint grumpiness (a look that's easy for him to fall back into) but reclined in a lounging position nontheless.]
Action
When she finally gets the message from Miller, she heads over immediately and it doesn't take her too long to find him. He definitely looks worse for wear, and she pulls over her own plastic lawnchair to settle into so she doesn't have to disturb him.]
Hey. I take it things weren't exactly as peaceful as they seem, around here?

[He sits up, giving her a good once over. He can't get close to do so, but it's just a cursory glance. Age? Seems the same. Hair. No injuries. Not all that much has changed.]
Glad to have you back, Fareeha.
[Good enough a greeting. But as per usual, he's quick to inform her of what's going on. Recently he's found his footing again, his old role, and god he wishes that it actually didn't fit like a glove.] Thisavrou had no military. Nor did they have any prolonged conflicts. Almost any integration went the same way. Say, take their altercation with the Sli'arth far back in their history. They were a nomadic and hostile and aggressive species. The Savrii easily convinced them that they would share their resources.
But we both know if a warlike and aggressive species attacked a planet with infinite resources and no apparent military, how that would actually go.
The intermediaries did this to us because we had the ability to maintain our dislike and suspicions. We never "integrated".

It's good to be back. Odd, since I don't really remember being gone at all in the first place, [Odd, but not impossible.] but you're right. A nomadic and hostile species still retains a greater singular set of goals; we're literally a rag-tag jumble of varying ethics, experiences, and skills. We haven't even integrated to that tribe yet. There will always be troublemakers, but we weren't exactly geared up for success from the start.
[She rests her elbows on her knees and clasps her hands, taking in a breath and thinking about everything she can remember about her time before.]
no subject
This was always what was going to happen. And they've been holding it against us.
[He sighs.]
The force field extends down through the tunnels, somehow, so we can't escape that way. But it also makes me think it might be round. I have an idea to shut it down.

[She leans forward, dropping her tone; she wasn't sure what sort of surveillance they were under but she assumed it wasn't none..] Really? And what's that?
no subject
Depends on if I can get the parts made, honestly. Right now we're in the supply collecting stage.
[He's made the executive choice to keep some of their resource chains hidden from each other, though. That's just a matter of chopping up the intel collecting from others if the Savrii catch wind.]

[She gives him a small smile. It's good to be able to fall into old habits, with how much everything else has changed, and she appreciates the trust that Miller gives her.]
