Job Offer [text; sent to all character inboxes at various points in May and June]

On behalf of my employer, I'm looking to hire a few people who are capable and discreet. If you have skills in any of the following areas, and you would be interested in occasional work, please let me know, and we'll arrange a task for you. If you complete it satisfactorily, it could lead to further jobs.

- Information gathering
- Infiltration
- Surveillance (short term or long term)
- Item retrieval
- Hacking
- General security
- Forensic investigation and testing
- Anything else that seems to you like it might be useful in an investigation

Mr Lane's primary requirements are that no one is seriously hurt or killed and that you keep the work you do for him to yourself. It's all right if you have a teammate in mind, as long as the task is suited to that kind of work and you can fulfil the request without drawing attention to yourselves. Payment depends on the task, but should average around 200 sencs for an evening or two of work.

It's also all right if you're working for someone else; Mr Lane is willing to hire you through your employer if your employer is unwilling to allow you to take the task as a freelance assignment. However, you may not share the details of any assignments Mr. Lane gives you with anyone else, including that employer.

Hello, theoretical person. Mr. Lane likes you, and would like to beseech your insight on a question regarding laws in this universe, in a system of planets you likely have no influence upon.

Now, naturally, of course, there are alternate universe. Countless members of the modern intelligentsia have done research on this. Perhaps the unknowable, this theoretical "no one," exists somewhere, and is watching all of this right now.

If they aren't real, their thoughts on legality are almost assuredly irrelevant. Or maybe the question is whether or not I'm listening.

Mr Lane has requirements, however, which are in line with those of the Savrii. No deaths, no avoidable injuries... for "unavoidable," I'm referring to the kind that might be inflicted in self-defense. Generally, though, if someone has to be hurt in the course of this work, the worker has made a serious mistake at some earlier point.

That depends on what kind of cases they're taking.

Can you think of a reason why it might be advantageous to delegate that sort of thing? Particularly if you're not engaged in something like taking compromising photographs to further someone's divorce. I'll give you a hint: "Oh, him? He's always snooping."

My present job with Normandy Securities has been temporarily suspended due to my employer taking a leave of absence. I am skilled at hand to hand combat, and am particularly adept at skirting security measures.

In essence, I am good at getting into places people may not want or expect me to get into.

Mr Lane's line of work requires that employees are always proving the point that they can do their jobs well and quietly.

I've a very good memory. No particular skill with electronics, though I can manage them well enough.
