This is T-O-D, Deputy of Ingress Contingency Coordination. We are entering a level two state contamination across all known regions--I told them we needed to regulate travel, but nooo.... and THIS. Is Ema.

[The camera turns from the round robotic speaker toward a tendril-faced being who looks slightly ill. Or just embarrassed. Those who have traveled with the Savrii's diplomatic groups might recognize the individual at hand as a mid-clearance representative. They might even understand the shy wave of her tentacles, before a high, sarcastic voice cuts off the gesture.]

Ema went out with that fiasco on the asteroid. Ema decided to cut loose. Relax! Why not? It's not like the assessors trusted with the fate of the multiverse thought it was dangerous!

...but. Ema keeps a sensible security system installed around her room. And that's how we were able to discover this.

[The TAB feed switches to a dimmer video with a timestamp in the lower left corner. Almost exactly three days ago-- the night of the celebration on Asteroid 276. It shows Ema stumbling outside of her quarters and vomiting into the hallways of Region Four. The tentacled woman stumbles away in distress, leaving behind a messy coating of red-grey...

...which quivers. Shudders. And crawls offscreen, a rolling, seething mess of flesh--]

Consuming untested phenomenon. Smuggling of a potential biohazard. And this from a planet vetted as safe? I understand many of you biologicals keep parasites of your own, but this is an obvious breach of interuniversal quarantine procedures, and requires immediate assessment and response.

[TOD vibrates in the air, high voice reaching a crescendo of frenzied importance.]

Testing stations are being set up in Burg One of Chioni and all populated regions of Kauto. All inhabitants of Thisavrou who have engaged in Ingress travel over the last two cycles are required to report to mandatory decontamination and debriefing. That's two hundred days for the calculation-challenged idiots out there! If you know of anyone experiencing similar symptoms, provide their names, along with anything they've touched, to the nearest Contingency Coordinator or intermediary. Especially if they haven't reported in!

Decontamination is mandatory for all parties who have travelled. Safety must be our paramount concern!

I acquired them at the same party Ema had been to. I had bad hunch about that place- unfortunate to see now that it was proven right. The samples have been in kept in cold storage since I got them.

My participation was very light, but I believe I've also been exposed. I suspect whatever... that was, compelled me to go outside before any vomiting occurred, hence the lack of this event being captured on security feeds.

[ And he had A LOT of security in his condo. ]

I take medication to help me with insomnia, but immediately after I got home from the party I fell asleep. The nightmare I had was also unusual, nothing that matched my previous pattern of dreaming. I woke up outside and only became fully lucid after... expelling everything.

Possibly related: persisting feeling of hunger, indigestion and emptiness, despite eating properly and no recent psychological stressors that would induce such a reaction from me.

[Ahaha, way to set off a guy...]

Well, that I simply can't begin to tell you! Probably, though. At some point. My flesh-contained colleagues seem to regard it as a valuable part of life although I say they're just jealous their pain receptors are so faulty (no manual overrides, who even came up with that?).

Unless you mean as a result of this? I'd say that depends strongly on the behavior of the contaminated.

A lot of people were unwittingly involved in this. Punishing them, killing them because of whatever it is... It just seems unspeakably cruel.

That said... what are the checkpoints meant to do? What should the people who go there expect?

Hmm.

I don't know, I think I would remember eating a massive blob of squishy flesh and then vomiting it up everywhere. It's a bit extraordinary. And disgusting.

[Wanda had thought she'd been asking urgent and important questions. How to keep safe, whether the trade-based economy of Thisavrou was in danger due to the restriction of all travel, whether to expect shortages and unrest, things like that. She'd only been through the Ingress once, and not to the asteroid. And they surely couldn't decontaminate every single organic person on Thisavrou at the exact same time, so any likely method of triage would not have Wanda's decontamination as a priority. There were others who should go first.

She wondered if there were any kind of triage amidst all this panic and shouting, but decided not to ask. In fact, there didn't seem to be any point in asking anything, based on the response she'd gotten.

Although some of the questions she hadn't asked had been answered. Grimy little flesh heap was troubling, but there was worse. You have no right to know how to keep safe... The person saying that probably didn't know the answer, but even so, something very cold took hold of her core and she didn't anticipate it letting go any time soon.

This was bad. But Wanda didn't want to draw any more attention, let the bad progress without her.]

[That was all she had to say here. Maybe she could find out more elsewhere. Find out what the decontamination entailed before going, at the very least. There was a whole city out there who knew more than her, and people she'd interacted with profitably. She needed to know the mood of the city -- especially when it came to the "grimy flesh heap" type of attitudes -- not just this one official.]

It's nothing too arduous! Some paperwork. ID verification. There will probably be a line. Then you step inside and they get you all cleaned up!
