[It's late in the night -- nearly a morning, when the post goes up to the network. Now, Moira's had plenty of drunken nightly posts in the past and in the beginning this really looks like one. In the video you can see J who's looking happy with a calm smile on her lips. Almost too happy to be someone suffering from insomnia and the cheerfulness doesn't really make her appear drunk. Maybe she's taken something else. ]

Now darlings. I know that things are looking very unpleasant to us at the moment, which is about as big news as water being wet I know. The ship smells like a dumpster, the new found information about Ingress, incompetent captains and the uncertainty whether our next stop is going to put us in danger again.

[Her voice is soft and sweet as she speaks. Coy yet inviting]

But I tell you it doesn't have to be that way. I now know how to make it better, how to make you feel better, darlings. All you need to do is come and join me in I.L.R and I'll show you.

[She winks her eye at the camera before showing her surroundings in J deck.]

Now please don't leave me hanging. It's like they say in songs: every baby doll needs her daddy, right?

[ooc: this is part of the monolith/indoctrination plot. J's been affected and if someone does come see her she's going to try convert them into her new found brainwashing religion.]

[WEEWOO WEEWOO SOMETHING IS HUGELY WRONG WITH J APPROACH WITH CAUTION

Shep runs through several scenarios, weighing each one out before answering. Her tone, attitude, and behavior was all wrong for how she typically acted drunk, so that was, save some bizarre drink, eliminated.

It could be a drug — lord knew there were plenty that would cause that level of psychological change, but did J take it herself, or was she given it?

Not matter what the case, it was worrying. Switching on her video, she swipes it into private before responding.]

J, what's going on?

Is this what humans call... [riptide squints at something on his hand.] a b-ball call?

Are you... are you trying to dunk on me?!

I mean. I suppose there are worse ways to get someone to bang you.

Oh, I'm sure there is. Ones that you have more experience with.

[He's not entirely sure what to make of this, because she seems drunk. Or high, or something like that. And if that's the case, it's none of his business... but something very weird is going on in the ship right now, and so he's pretty suspicious of any weird behavior popping up out of seemingly nowhere.]

...are you alright?

[Checking on her is the least he can do.]

[Okay what? J looks at the screen, the sweet smile widening in amusement. What is this robot saying?]

Dunk on you? Ha, I suppose that's one way to put it. Though, I'd say you'll have to come and check for yourself to be sure. Right?

[Now, who is this? A face she doesn't remember before so a new crewmember? They did get plenty of new comers few weeks ago.

And well, it's not too far fetched for him to think she's high. The wide eager smile on her face contrasts the relaxed body language.]

Well, hello there stranger. I'm fine. Just little bit lonely, you know.

You're not gonna dunk on me. I'm gonna dunk on you.

Where are you.

[ Huh? ]

I thought the bar was going in ... [ He literally remembers to bite his tongue a split second before saying the room number.

The physical wince that breaks out across his face is evidence that he did, in fact, bite his tongue. ]

[WELL! If it isn't her pseudo-space mom!

There's something wrong with her, that's for sure. She hardly ever acts like this, not even during her good days or when she's trying to chat up a customer. She gives Shepard a very pleased look as she leans back against the wall, eyes wide but still focused.]

Why, what kind of question is that? I thought it's obvious, dear. I'm just trying to lift up some spirits around here. No one likes being alone, right?

[If it isn't Dr. Adrien! Her expression brightens when she sees him on the video, almost as if the their previous more mean and cold natured meeting had never happened. Really, if anything she appears to be very delighted to see him again.]

Oh, poor dear. I hope you didn't hurt yourself there.

[J's eyes brightens up the moment Riptide says that. Finally she get someone to come! Yes, this is good. Of course Riptide is far from what she had hoped to bait in but guess beggars can't be choosers.

She turns the camera and shows some of her surroundings again.]

I'm here, darling. Lady J on the J deck. Easy to remember right?

[ She does seem quite ... perky.

Rather like how she'd been when their paths had crossed on the party planet. But this was J and Adrien was coming to learn not to take anything at face value. ]

No. I'm good, thanks. Just curious about the change of location.

You sure? I could easily come and give it a check. [She giggles and winks eye at him. Now, there's an idea though! Maybe she should start going to them instead? Since her current tactic doesn't seem to be working, how worrying.

But before she has a chance to make any good of her threat she's stopped by the rest of his message.]

What's changed its location?

[ Now he's thoroughly confused.

Hadn't they ended their last conversation on a sour note? He'd been doing his best impersonation of a complete ass, so he was fairly certain they had but here she was, winking at him. ]

I'm quite sure. [ Did the smell of decay usually make people ... frisky?

Focusing on the question, he looked discomforted, as he was sure she didn't want him discussing the bar over the network; right? ]

You know they uhm ... thing you guys do together, with the stuff.

It's true.

I'm fond of the "just throw me down and get it all done" approach.

Y'know where I'm from this is one'a those calls to the balls....to get shanked. Sounds like you're gonna shank somebody and steal their shoes and I'm just...not feeling it.

[The focus is pointed, tunnelled, and put Shepard at further unease, and J's response was no better. "Dear"?]

[J grimaces in distaste when she suggest that she's taken something. How gross, J would never touch drugs again!]

Ha, helping someone forget for a moment by offering a drink is meaningless compared to what I can do for them now. What I can do for you.

I'm here near the library. If you'll join me I'm sure it will help you understand as well.

You like it rough? Well, I guess the shape of your body proves that. [Oh, yeah. She hasn't forgotten about all those ugly scars you're hiding.]

I can show you how to do it right. If you want to? I think I still owe you something.

Oh now, don't be silly. Do I really look like someone who could do something as awful as that?

[Look at that sweet face!... no but really, don't trust it. She will shoot you.]

I wouldn't hurt even a fly. All I want is to make everyone feel nice and good.

What you can do for me? [Something, something about the way she says it, suggests it, makes her skin crawl. It's lascivious, or meant to be — in all the wrong ways. Like someone who'd watched a vid on how to seduce people, then attempted it on the first person they met on the street, regardless of appearance.

It made her want her gun. But what were the chances of J being at all forthcoming is she had a weapon in her hand?]

Excellent. I'll be waiting but please, don't take too long. We are getting lonely.

[He's right that she normally wouldn't want the bar be discussed in public forum like this. But this is everything but a normal situation and she couldn't care less about the discretion or the bar. Let it be shouted out loud so that everyone can find out about it as far as she cares. No, there's something far more important on the hand.]

Now that just sounds a bit too suspicious don't you think? But I'd rather more focus on you than anything else.

My least favorite topic. [ Adrien said in a dry tone. ] So I think I'll leave you to your ... whatever it is you're doing here.

[ Maybe he'd try checking in with Tony to find out if there had been a change in bar plans. ]
