Text - Private Message to the Captains
Attention: Captains of the Moira
Subject: Concerns Regarding Megatron of Tarn
Hello,
My name is Ultra Magnus, you may know me as one of your recently recruited crewmembers. I am a Cybertronian and Autobot Commander, previously serving aboard the Lost Light.
I am not sure what information you may have received from my fellow cybertronians, but I am obligated to warn you about Megatron of Tarn. Megatron was the leader of a radical movement that escalated into a full one civil war. His Decepticons were responsible of the murder of countless lives, both cybertronian and organic species alike. After the end of the four million year war, Megatron was put on trial for war crimes but his trial was postponed on a technicality. Following an unorthodox bail arrangement, Megatron has been granted freedom of movement and was allowed to join the Autobot ship The Lost Light on their mission to search for the Knights of Cybertron, with the assumption that he would be closely supervised by the crew.
By bringing Megatron to the Moira, you are interfering with the terms of his bail agreement, and have made it significantly more difficult to ensure the safety of not only the crew, but everyone he comes in contact with. In addition to being subject to constant Autobot supervision, there were other contingencies in place which cannot be replicated here on the Moira.
While I'm sure your crew is fully capable, it is important to note that even the average cybertronian is more than a threat to an organic being, and Megatron is no average cybertronian. I recommend you consider him extremely dangerous, and maintain a close watch on his activities aboard the ship.
As the Former Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord and Second in Command of the Lost Light, I will do what I can to monitor his activities myself. Considering the interference with his bail agreement, I would normally recommend you imprison him until he can be moved to an Autobot ship and returned to the Lost Light. However, without any express direction from Autobot Command on what should happen in this situation, I offer that merely as a suggestion and leave the decision to you as the commanding officers on the ship.
Based on recent behavior, I imagine Megatron will make an effort to cooperate with you and the crew and maintain his pledge to change his actions and behaviors. However, if possible, I would like to discuss a contingency in the case of a relapse.
Unrelated, but I am also curious if there is an explicit Code of Conduct for members of the ship. Aside from the contract, there was not one provided upon arrival through the Ingress. I am also curious about any laws that apply to this region of space. Our current location does not seem to be within the bounds of the Galactic Council or the Black Box Consortia, and navigating through unknown territory without thorough knowledge of local regulations is a monumental risk.
Please reply so I know you received this message. If I do not hear from you soon I will reach out to you in person.
Thank you,
Ultra Magnus

While I am happy to answer any questions on the subject, this message was meant to be sent to the captains only. Is this a glitch with the MID system? Who is responsible for maintaining it?

We appreciate that you've taken the time to let us know about Megatron's past actions. However, we did not bring Megatron of Tarn to the Moira. We cannot control who the Ingress sends through. Your recommendations have been noted, but it isn't necessary for you to monitor his actions, though if you do, it is at your discretion.
The other captains and myself will discuss this and decide what actions we believe we should take.
There is no explicit code of conduct for the Moira. If you do your work and do not harm the ship or other crew members, then what you do is your choice. Laws for this region of space are very much the same. The universe that we are traveling through has no majority government or federation, and each planet monitors and maintains its own set of rules.
Millions of worlds and more people than can be imagined live around us, and decide for themselves. We are responsible for ourselves and we must be careful.
Please respond if you have any further questions.

Very well. I would appreciate to be informed once you have reached a verdict.
Do you mean to tell me there is no code of conduct to which the crewmembers are held accountable? As you said yourself, rules and expectations differ between various groups and cultures. It stands to reason that crewmembers are coming through the Ingress with their own understanding of what may or may not be appropriate or acceptable. I am surprised you have managed to go so long without incident.
A standard set of rules would only benefit the ship, establishing clear boundaries and expectations while providing a unifying force to raise solidarity amongst the crew. If enforced properly, it would also help mitigate any criminal incidents or insubordinate action that might occur.

If you would follow up with one of the captains soon, we will have an answer for you then.
There isn't currently, no. We've hardly had any trouble with the crew, but everyone is accountable for their actions. We expect the crew to not harm one another and to not cause any problems that could directly or indirectly cause us all trouble.
Your suggestions are noted and will be discussed immediately.
