Subject: URGENT -- RESULTS OF AMISSIS-RE INGRESS JOURNAL TRANSLATION PROJECT & SECTION U RECON
The translation project has been completed, and with it, we now understand a number of things.
About the Ingress:
1. The Ingress was built by a civilization of extremely intelligent beings who the Caducans called The Creators, with the goal of expanding exploration. It utilizes "Living Energy" and can be dangerous if it's unstable.
2. The Moira's Ingress is the only known mobile Ingress. It was designed to assist the ship in traveling to extreme distances at unheard-of speeds through timeslip technology.
3. Translation has shown us that the symbols being emitted by the Ingress are repair instructions and navigation coordinates.
4. Repairing the Ingress and utilizing the timeslip technology will allow us to reach the Midway Hub in a relatively short amount of time. The Captains have embraced this option. (Not a moment too soon, if you ask us.)
5. If you think you can contribute to the repairs, the Ingress team can use you. Contact Tony Stark soon as possible. [ And the next part, in noticeably different and obviously Tony-written language: ] or, y'know, just show up and wow us. you won't hear me complaining.
About the Mirtis:
1. A thorough investigation of Ploiatos's former quarters yielded some useful information. Evidence including his journal and the state of his quarters shows that his transformation was gradual and severe, and was caused by the Ingress.
2. It appears that he may have been visiting worlds through the Ingress.
3. Please find images of the journal pages attached for informational and archival purposes. [1], [2], [3].
[ And then at the end, a notable addendum: ]
good job, you clever bastards

If not, then maybe a lot, depending on the nature of the transformation.
In the case of Mr. Ploiatos, it appears to be something that has happened to him.

Who are you talking about?

This video will also help. You can follow our discussions if you want to, but if not, the initial address from the Captain and First Mate will probably be informative. They're a little more recent.
Mr. Ploiatos was an ordinary crew member on this ship some time ago... one with a good personal reputation... who was transformed into an apparently malicious creature with abilities many of us would consider supernatural. He, or his affliction, seems to be the cause of the current state of the ship.
[These links come as attachments with his response.]

So he's somehow gotten... into the ship? Has that ever happened before?

Since it uses the Ingress, my opinion is that the implication is that it may have something to do with why we're all here to begin with.

Does it have anything about Ploiatos's motivations?
[He means in his initial research on the Ingress. Not the madness that came after.]

the symbols
are the ingress telling us how to repair it
because it's
alive?
is that what living energy means?
no subject
Mr. Ploiatos's journal suggests things, however. The idea that living energy is surrounded by a storm of death that was created somewhere as a consequence of the Ingerss is disconcerting, to say the least. If it's literal, it's probably out there somewhere. If it's figurative or a matter of his perceptions, that's another kind of problem.

i think i get it
what's the deal with ploiatos?

My personal opinion is that if we needed to be worried at the moment, we would know. As it is, it's something to keep in mind for the future.

Let me guess, no one knows what those journal entries have to do with either?

I don't think we've tried picking it up and shaking it, but that's probably for the best. Anyway, I'm not sure who of our current numbers could manage that. Do you know of anyone?
[voice]
But I'm sure it'll work itself out.

This is really uncomfortably familiar for me.

However, this may go some way towards explaining the situation with the glass after the battle.
