So who's in charge of keeping the power on around here? Cause I don't know if you noticed but the lights keep doing thi-

[He cuts off distracted as another well-timed pulse of darkness swept through the ship.]

That flickering thing. It's starting to get a liiittle freaky. [Not that he's scared or anything. Who would be scared of some silly lights.]

So maybe you could, I don't know, make it stop? That would be rad.

no one's in charge of the power...it's a ship. there's about a dozen different things that keep the power on. a whole system of systems. there's the solar sails, the engines, the generators, the entire electric system etc etc...it's not all run by ONE person, you know?

we just have to figure out where in system the problem is happening.

[Ratchet's beginning to feel like his life has become one long stream of explaining rudimentary technology or baseline psychics. Luckily he somehow hasn't reached the end of his patience with it just yet.]

they generate the power...what did you THINK the giant solar panels on the ship were for??

like a what? how long do you think a battery would last on a ship like this for a trip this long? they probably wanted something renewable...as long as the sails are working we should have as much energy as we need for as long as we need it.

except...you know. obviously something in the system is wrong. we just need to figure out WHAT.

I'm in engineering and there's not really much we can do down here. There are these power surges and I haven't been able to track them to the source. It's really weird.
